I want to talk to you about the use of AI. I’m going to be honest, I loved the movie starring Haley Joel Osment, I cried for the robot boy. I myself, feel like a misunderstood robot boy. I would even reenacted the scene where he stares out from the bottom of the pool while no one notices him. But now, it’s really here. The real AI.
I’m going to be honest and tell you that… I’ve tried it. I’ve punched up a resume, I’ve gotten help editing, and a couple times I had it draw tarot cards for me (don’t do that last one). I find there are some uses for it that aren’t creative. There’s AI software like grammarly, that help you do some boring work (like cleaning up your punctuation) that you can benefit from. But the sudden integration into our everyday, is suspicious. Every software I use has pitched an AI assistant to me. And with recent news of chatGPT induce psychosis, AI+human romance, and AI war machines, research shows us that this isn’t a tool to trust, in fact no machine is. I find the sudden push of this instrument and the accessibility of it to all, very disturbing. But, I guess, there are always going to be sick people doing sick things when given access to advanced technologies (yes the hyperlink will take you to a story of pedophiles using AI). Not only does AI harm our minds, but it is greatly impacting our water supply, more so felt in less affluent communities.
So, here’s my take. I will say, I’m confused. But, I’m often late to the latest “technology”, I usually wait for it to die out in a few years because, whenever anything new is introduced the attention towards it becomes obsessive and then slowly dies out. Even if it’s beneficial, like masks and vaccines. Because the real question is: how do we make use of a tool that was forced upon us in the most humanitarian way? We don’t need artificial intelligence that strips water from the earth. The earth is the intelligence we’ve been given, our bodies are the intelligence, the universe is the intelligence. Why try to find other ways “expand” when we have hardly accepted our own intelligence? The overnight integration of AI in every aspect of society is quite manipulative, if you think about it. The attempt to normalize artificial intelligence during a time of fascist uprising in the USA, as AI is used in military and defense, as AI is used to target and slaughter millions of people (majority children and women) in the Middle East is not a coincidence, this is a purposeful manipulation of your values. The key is that you are not curious enough to research where your money is going.
AI is not being used to progress or expand upon anything useful for the human experience, AI is being used to create more ways to harm and surveil. How could an investment towards artifice support us when in our own country we can’t even recognize basic human rights for: women, children, immigrants, trans people, black people, natives, the poor, the house less, the hungry, even the “average” man that hides his inability to keep up with feeding the machine his labor and time. Ask yourself, How could we be fighting for the rights of artificial intelligence and neglecting the basic human rights of our people here on earth? How could we be stripping the earth of her water with the use of AI , and not making sure to protect the very water supply of the earth we depend on to live on?
A better use of our investments is to invest in each other. One human life is more valuable than a digital .1% of a dollar or a cute drawing of you as a studio Ghibli character. A person, carries within them the key to save our earth, the collective mind, the spirit. Our very intelligence courses through every part of our body and beyond, containing the tools to grow, to nurture, to educate, to inspire, and so much more we have yet to explore. What could be a better investment?
On investments, I tried some stocks and crypto last year to this year, (I took everything out cause I learned my lesson) so that I could learn firsthand about its operations. I felt really stupid when it came to that so I thought I needed experience. I’ve met so many men I considered myself smarter than understand the mechanics of this trade and I just couldn’t take that I didn’t understand. So, against all odds, I went in. It was a great learning lesson in how our economy works, I recommend learning by doing. Stocks and crypto go up or down depending on the news (media) and leadership (presidency). Essentially, it’s dependent upon gossip and storytelling for the elites, taking advantage of our attention. We essentially, buy in to their stories, or don’t, driving stocks up or down. Without our involvement it would be powerless. This is why the saying “people power” means so much. It’s our choice to give our power over to this existing system that keeps us from building new ones.
I attempted (for a couple of months) investing in companies that did not support Israel or the American war machine. Could I even do that? That meant avoiding lots of tech and AI companies. I even found out Fenty (my fav brand of makeup) also had muddy ties to some shit. What I loved about it was learning that this giant mechanism in which many invest in, seeks to profit from our fear, attention, elation, essentially; playing with our emotions. Feeling and seeing that clearly helped me learn that the ways in which things are presented to us in a mainstream way, prioritize our inability to see that we are being used, our emotions harvested. Many are put into a position in which they don’t even understand what they are investing in, they don’t do the research to see that their dollars are helping AI drones attack innocent civilians because well, their stocks are higher. They don’t realize that us as individuals keep the wars going, in fact, we are betting on their success to annihilate and kill as many people as it can for a few dollars.
There’s many people in my own family that have been taken advantage of by the NYSE, starting at nothing and suddenly gaining thousands, and then in the same breath: everything being taken away. It’s like going to the casino but instead of fun it’s for survival. Stocks run the risk of those that do not have anything, to lose everything they’ve ever made.
For many, this is the only trajectory towards earning more than your job dictates you should earn. I don’t have that problem, because I don’t have a regular job and literally invent the ways I can be paid. Artists have to be sales people convincing others their craft is meaningful enough to be paid and cared for. But, for many that adhere to the 9-5 or early morning hours of labor, finances are fixated and even then, it’s not enough to provide for your family. You have to get creative. Investing become a source of creative financial freedom for those that can not think outside the box. The stock exchange harvests the creativity of the people, those that are looking for more opportunities than a regular work week can give.
This is one of my takes, take it or leave it. Ultimately, I don’t think AI itself is evil, but this sudden push for the everyday person to use it, the normalization of it during the rise of fascism in our country, The control of it through literal nazi billionaires that don’t care if we live or die, kinda sounds like total fucking shit. Anyway, fuck this shit, and I hope that Trump’s blood clot suffocates him in his sleep, I’m happy to watch him decay and I send wishes of spiritual harm to all Nazi fucks, may your mothers drown choking in the blood of your hate. (Damn, that feels sexy af to write). AND! Remember to use the expertise and talents of a human being for your upcoming projects. We need to rely on each other now more than ever, we need to remind each other that we are the original AI, our intelligence is integral to all of the systems we build around us.
:) I love you.
Kissy!
